Jason and Jenna’s Memorial Day wedding was the perfect kick-off for the wedding season with Michaela. Jason and Jenna met while deployed with the Army. The couple, with their combined three children, live in Texas but chose Jenna’s home state to say their vows and be united as one.
It was clear throughout the entire day how admired Jason and Jenna both are for their sacrificial hearts. Fellow soldiers shared stories of the impact the couple had on their lives. If any couple was going to have a Memorial Day wedding, it was Jason and Jenna. I was incredibly honored to be a part of it.
Jenna made an absolutely stunning bride! Her calm demeanor only complimented her beauty that radiated from the inside out. Jenna is a crafty person and it showed as she made all the bouquets, boutonnieres and decorations. She included personal details with a Memorial table. Photos of the couple and their family accented a Trail Mix bar. There were also glow sticks and photo props, inviting guests to really let loose and enjoy the celebration!
The ceremony confirmed for everyone present how much this couple loved one another. Jenna and Jason wrote their own vows, complete with inside jokes. They symbolized the unity of their family through a canvas painting that all five left their mark on.
Jenna’s maid of honor gave a wonderful speech, with stories of Jenna’s kind heart from their childhood to present. Jason’s best man had everyone in tears, speaking of Jason’s leadership while they were all deployed. It was definitely a reminder for all the kind of sacrifices that are made and why this Memorial Day wedding was so appropriate. In addition to a sweet first dance as a couple, Jenna and Jason each took a turn dancing with their kids. As a daddy’s girl myself, it was a real tear jerker to watch Jason dance with his two little girls!
To conclude the evening, guests danced the night away while Michaela and I stole the couple for a quick sunset session. I love these 20 minutes of each wedding we shoot! It not only gives us a chance to shoot more photos of the bride and groom, but I also feel it gives the couple some quiet time together to reflect and celebrate that they are now Mr. and Mrs.
Jason and Jenna, it was an absolute honor to photograph your Memorial Day wedding. I wish the two of you and your family all the happiness in the world. Thank you, especially, for your service to our country.
